Introduction to Capoeira for Beginners

Capoeira Libertacao, in association with The Hall Exeter, are running a session of ‘An introduction to Capoeira for Beginners’ on Saturday 28th February (11.30 to 1pm). Capoeira Libertacao have been running capoeira classes in infants and junior schools since 2010 and full adult classes since 2011. Our aim is to bring to life the culture surrounding the Afro- Brazilian art-form.

Brazilian capoeira is a martial art that combines elements of fight, acrobatics, music, dance and ritual that was created by African Slaves in Brazil. It was once banned, but has become ingrained in the fabric of Brazilian culture. Using ballet-like moves this form of self-defence is as graceful as it is powerful.

What do you need for the classes? Just a positive attitude to have fun; some warm, comfortable clothing to move about in and a bottle of water! Any questions please contact James on 07765 830746 or countryritual@gmail.com

1.5 hour class £8
