Exeter Pro Dance Training with Kay Crook of Chhaya Collective

Join Kay Crook, Chhaya Collective, for an energetic contemporary dance class, working with Chhaya’s unique style; blending technique exercises, jamming, dynamic stretch sequences, mindfulness, conditioning, floor drills, travelling and learning set phrases / repertoire. *Space available 9am - 12pm

Sessions are intermediate/advanced contemporary dance classes, aimed at dance artists and adults with dance experience (18+)

Kay Crook is a freelance dance artist and Artistic Director of Chhaya Collective, a female-led contemporary dance company, working between Exeter and India since 2013. Kay choreographed Chhaya's international touring productions, Falling Light, HYMNOS and KHAOS and was commissioned to make work for PERA (North Cyprus), Attakkalari (India), 3Fall (UK), Grace & Growl (UK), FITIJ (Portugal) and mapdance (UK). Kay is the Founder and Director of Chhaya Youth Dance Company and Wild Workshops for Women, previously Associate Lecturer for Attakkalari and PERA and worked with PDSW, WOW, Kerala National Theatre (India), 101 Outdoor Arts (UK), Barbican Theatre, Tanzart-Kirschau (Germany), LAB-Arts (Portugal), In2it Festival (Norway) and HIFA (Zimbabwe), amongst others. Kay currently works as a performer with State of Emergency, Chhaya Collective and Heather Walrond Company, touring ‘The Rising’ nationally and internationally, 2015 - 2019, in collaboration with VOU Dance Company (Fiji).
