The Silent Disco Experience
Our Not So Silent disco system isn't actually silent at all – it's cleverly designed to keep the party atmosphere alive while respecting our neighbours and licensing requirements.
How It Works
Wireless headphones are available from the moment your event begins. Guests naturally transition to using them throughout the evening – usually by 9:45pm most people are wearing headsets without even noticing the shift. This allows us to keep ambient room noise low while maintaining the full party energy.
What's Included
Every party package includes:
Professional silent disco equipment with up to three channels
An operator to manage the system throughout your event
Wireless headphones for all your guests
Your Music, Your Way
Headset Channels:
Blue Channel: Typically is the same as the ambient room music playing in the room
Red & Green Channels: Additional channels for different music styles or guest preferences
Use one channel or all three – it's completely flexible
Music Selection Options:
Venue Playlists - We can supply curated playlists for all channels
Your Spotify Playlists - Send them to events@thehallexeter.org with your event date in the subject line
Guest Jukebox: - Dedicate one channel where guests can add their song requests
A Typical Evening
Headsets are available from the moment your event begins, sitting alongside the ambient room music. Throughout the night, guests organically pick them up and start dancing – and here's the magic: by mid-evening, most people are wearing headphones without even realizing they've transitioned. Dancers have their full soundtrack, chatters can hear each other comfortably, and ambient noise stays respectfully low. Everyone enjoys themselves in their own way.
The result? Everyone enjoys themselves, the party atmosphere stays vibrant, guests don't even notice the system at work, and our neighbours can sleep peacefully.
Our Noise Policy & Silent Disco System
Being Good Neighbours
The Hall is located in Exeter's Historic West Quarter, a beautiful residential area. We're committed to being responsible neighbours while creating memorable events for our guests.
To balance brilliant celebrations with community respect, we:
Use a silent disco system throughout the evening, allowing us to keep ambient noise levels low
Prohibit acoustic drums and monitor sound levels throughout events
Ask all guests to leave quietly and respectfully at the end of the evening
Work closely with local residents and Exeter City Council to maintain our good standing
We take noise management seriously – it's how we ensure The Hall can continue hosting wonderful events for years to come.
Leaving The Hall
We ask all guests to leave quietly at the end of the evening. Our residential location means voices carry, especially on the cobbled hill outside. Please keep farewells brief and save the loud conversations for when you're further down the street – it helps us maintain the excellent relationship we have with our West Quarter neighbours
